Why I Built QuizNotes
I'm Daniel Tham, a piano teacher and developer in Vancouver. I built QuizNotes because I kept running into the same problem in my own studio: a 45-minute lesson leaves roughly 10 minutes for theory, and there is no good way to extend that time into the week between lessons.
QuizNotes turns theory drill into auto-graded homework that students complete on their own time. The questions are aligned with the RCM Theory Syllabus (Levels 5–8), every attempt is marked instantly, and I can see which knowledge categories each student is struggling with before the next lesson starts.
For parents, there is a one-page monthly report — in your studio's name — that shows per-category accuracy against the 60% pass mark. It proves progress without you having to write a single word.
If it saves you time or proves progress to a parent, it belongs in the product. Everything else stays out.
